iThemba Youth Choir

Shake & Bake Entertainment is excited to announce our collaboration with the iThemba Youth Choir – a vibrant South African musical collective hailing from Khayelitsha, the second-largest township in the country, located in Cape Town. Founded in 2021, iThemba is a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering young people through the transformative power of music.

What began as a small group of just seven passionate individuals has since grown into a dynamic 47-member ensemble. The choir is made up primarily of high school learners and unemployed youth, offering them a safe and inspiring space to develop their artistic talents. iThemba, which means "hope" in isiXhosa, lives up to its name by fostering a sense of purpose, pride, and unity among its members and audiences alike.

The group’s performances are a mesmerizing blend of vocal harmonies, poetry, and traditional dance – creating a high-energy, emotionally rich experience that celebrates South Africa’s cultural heritage. Their unique ability to fuse storytelling, musicianship, and movement leaves a lasting impression and resonates with audiences across all ages and backgrounds.
