A seasoned performer, producer, and entrepreneur, Matt has spent over 18 years shaping sound and making waves in the music industry. From performing at the FIFA World Cup Draw to becoming a South African Idols Top 16 finalist and winning “Musician of the Year” twice on Disney Cruise Lines, Matt’s musical journey blends showmanship with innovation. Beyond the stage, he’s launched Africa’s first stock music library and sonic branding agency—working with iconic brands like BMW and Travelstart. At heart, though, he’s a guitarist driven by rhythm, energy, and the power of live performance.

With over a decade of DJ experience and a record collection that spans the globe, Sord is a groove architect known for his high-energy, genre-bending sets. He’s a master of mood and momentum—effortlessly mixing house, funk, disco, and beyond into sets that light up the dancefloor. As the founder of SORD MUSIC EVENTS, he’s behind some of Cape Town’s most beloved gatherings, including Secret Garden Party, Aurora, and Groove Progression.
