Penelope Radsma
Penelope Radsma is a self-taught jazz vocalist and radio presenter based in Cape Town, known for her captivating interpretations of Golden Age jazz standards and the smooth, swaying sounds of Brazilian jazz. Born and raised in the city, Penelope discovered her passion for jazz during high school and, after pursuing a career in special needs teaching, followed her true calling as a vocalist in her late 20s.
With a rich, nostalgic voice and a natural affinity for the glamour of vintage jazz, Penelope brings class and heartfelt storytelling to every performance. From jazz clubs to festivals like the Cape Town Jazzathon and the Cape Town Seafood & Jazz Racing Festival, her elegant presence and creative arrangements have earned her a dedicated following.
When she’s not on stage, Penelope shares her love of jazz as a presenter on Fine Music Radio, where she hosts “Penelope in Lounge,” “In the Mood,” and “Light Lunch.” Passionate about preserving jazz’s legacy and reaching new audiences, Penelope is dedicated to delivering a timeless and stylish musical experience.
